We are currently in need of an Architect for our new technology product effort. This position is a full-time, permanent opportunity.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist clients with server and middle tier (java) configuration and integration. System integration and customization may involve the use of XML messaging and/or Charles River web services
2. Provide expert technical consultancy to install, trouble shoot and optimize product usage, to current and new clients especially as it relates to the new technology supporting the application
3. Provide installation/upgrade support for both prospective and existing clients.
4. Provide technical expertise to assist sales with prospective clients and Implementation Managers with new clients as they are being implemented.
5. Visit customers as required to resolve advanced technical issues (travel = approx 40%)
Requirements:
1. Ten or more years of commercial software development, proficient in developing multi-tier solutions.
2.MUST possess a BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
3. Detailed knowledge of the following technologies:
o Java/JSP Development
o Tomcat
o N-tier application architecture
o SOAP/XML and messaging software including MQ Series or Tibco
o Database systems (Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL)
o Exposure to C#.net
o Perl programming a plus
o Familiarity with Citrix a plus.
4. Product delivery experience: have been key in architecting, developing and supporting commercial software products which were sold to non-technical customers in vertical markets.
5. A background in portfolio management and trading system applications is preferred.
6. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills, ability to gather and understand requirements in the financial sector.
7. Sr. Individual Contributor or Architect level considered the top within their organization.
8. Ability to travel as needed (up to 40-50%)
