This full time, individual contributor position is based in London and reports to the Marketing Director.
Years of Relevant Experience:
Minimum 5-10 years experience in software/technology and/or financial industry marketing (both preferred) including: communications, campaigns, lead generation, events and marketing strategy.
Main Purpose:
Reporting to the Director, Marketing, this role is responsible for the development and execution of EMEA marketing communications strategies, within approved budgets, which serve to generate leads, retain current clients, and enhance the positioning of the company within the EMEA markets in which Charles River competes. This hands-on role requires a strategic approach and tactical execution – in addition to executing all EMEA marketing programs the role includes a high volume of writing and pitching.
Essential Functions:
- Develop marketing communications strategies and programs on regional basis for prospects, clients, and partners across all market segments
- Oversee and contribute to the execution of all departmental activities including but not limited to: directory listings, public relations, analyst relations, events, trade shows, email/post communication programs, collateral development, identity materials, the development and maintenance of EMEA web site content, and all client, partner and prospect communications
- Ensure company and product messaging is reflected in all EMEA marketing; ensure consistency across collateral materials; educate / inform sales teams
- Serve as primary product marketing expert; liaise with sales and product management to determine product collateral and communications needs, work with global marketing team to ensure integrated programs, responsible for all EMEA-related writing and pitching, including but not limited to: press releases, features, by-lines, case studies, white papers, briefing papers, interview and speaking preparation and speaker notes
- Oversee development and execution of EMEA public relations programs and contribute to writing including case studies, contributed articles, presentations, etc.
- Manage and enhance firm relationships with industry analysts
- Manage regional marketing communications budgets
- Plan and execute annual EMEA client conference
- Manage external trade shows and events, measure ROI, develop programs for continual improvement
- Provide sales support for external distribution channels (Sales & Service Partners)
Special Skills or Knowledge:
- Demonstrated ability to write clear and compelling marketing materials, including brochures, white papers, press releases, and presentations.
- Ability to lead the design and implementation of high-impact communications within Charles River style guidelines
- Detailed and deadline oriented.

Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum 5-10 years Marketing experience in financial services or software industries
- 3-5+ years experience managing budgets
- 5+ years managing the PR process, including drafting releases, securing executive approvals, pitching, media relations, etc.
- Solid Project / Program Management experience
- Desktop and web site publishing skills a plus
- BA or BS degree required
- Graduate degree in Marketing Communications, Communications, Marketing or related discipline preferred
