This full time, individual contributor position is based in Burlington, Massachusetts and reports to the Marketing Director. Little to no travel.
Years of Relevant Experience:
Minimum of 3 to 5 years within the custom market research industry or top-tier consultancy or related experience.
Main Purpose:
The Senior Market Analyst has global responsibility for the identification, collection, analysis, and dissemination of market intelligence. The Analyst will define and manage the entire research process from data collection to substantiated analyses, recommendations and reports.
This role will work closely with senior management and other key stakeholders to identify competitive and intelligence needs and deliver analysis to support goals.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct market definition, sizing and segmentation by geography and industry (wealth management, hedge funds, custodial banks, insurance, pensions, etc). Analyze data to evaluate existing and potential markets. Contribute to market plans and executive decision making with actionable data for specific products and services.
- Develop detailed market research to identify and evaluate specific business opportunities. Deliver corresponding reports which include: market saturation, unsold market, entry costs/barriers, pricing, government regulations, economic trends, technological advances, etc
- Develop analysis using primary, secondary and general research frameworks (Strength/Weakness/Opportunity/Threat, gap analysis, etc) to help identify new solutions and improve products and services.
- Research and report on market conditions or industry changes that may impact specific business units and the company.
- Create and manage methods and procedures for data collection and analysis.
- Develop and manage ongoing research projects to directly support strategy and goals.
Special Skills or Knowledge:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years within the custom market research industry or top-tier consultancy or related experience
- Financial services experience preferred, specifically financial investment front, middle and back office software solutions
- Direct experience with market and customer segmentation frameworks
- Excellent working knowledge of primary and secondary research methodologies and sources and tools used to acquire market intelligence
- Ability to quickly assimilate and analyze large amounts of data from multiple sources and deliver accurate, concise and insightful briefings
- Demonstrated ability to create and manage multiple projects independently
- Superior strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; experience presenting to senior management
- Bachelors degree
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word
